FHI 360 conducts epidemiologic studies using a variety of research designs, such as cohort, case-control, case-cohort and partially randomized patient-preference designs. Recent epidemiologic studies conducted by FHI 360 include investigations of:

  • The effects of switching to long-term contraception on pregnancy rates.
  • Hormonal contraception and the risk of HIV acquisition and disease progression.
  • HIV antibody response for the development of HIV incidence assays and algorithms.
  • HIV incidence to identify potential sites for future HIV prevention trials.
  • Factors associated with improved quality of life for persons living with HIV infection.
