Dr. Redempta Mbatia (MD, MSc Epidemiology) is a Founder and the current Executive Director of THPS and in that capacity she leads the THPS team in supporting the Tanzanian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to implement comprehensive HIV services in Pwani and Mtwara regions. Formerly, Dr. Mbatia was the Country Director for ICAP - Columbia University in Tanzania, where she managed over 150 professionals who were implementing HIV programs in collaboration with the government of Tanzania and local partners, including the scale-up of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment in more than 600 health facilities in Zanzibar and four regions of Tanzania (Kigoma, Pwani, Lindi and Kagera).
