The department of clinical oncology was established in 2010 and is based at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI). The department has no sub-units and currently runs two degree programs; Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Technology (Bsc RTT) which was established in 2007 and Masters of Medicine in Clinical Oncology (MMED clinical oncology) established in 2010. The MMED Clinical Oncology program trains doctors to become specialists in Clinical Oncology, which combines radiation and medical oncology. The Bsc RTT program trains technologists to be competent in delivering radiation therapy to patients. The department also trains visiting medical and nursing students as well as visiting residents from other departments such as surgery, gynecology, pediatrics and internal medicine.
