Dr. King'ang'a is a lecturer in the department of medical physiology, School of Medicine, Kenyatta university. He attended Tenwek and Mangu High School. He graduated with an M. B. Ch. B in 1993 and MMed in Anaesthesiology in 2001 from the University of Nairobi. He has a post graduate certicate in Neuro-anaesthesiology from All India Institute of medical sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi, India.
