Mr. Fakih Bakar is a research scientist working under heath system thematic group. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He joined IHI in 2009. He is currently acting as deputy secretary of Ifakara Health Institute – Institutional Review Board. His research focuses on health systems strengthening. Mr. Bakar has worked on different projects ranging from maternal and child health care, water and sanitation, community based studies, health financing and persons with disabilities. His recent work has been an assessment of the status of maternal and newborn health care services in Zanzibar.
