Akashi Andrew Rurangirwa received his medical degree from the National University of Rwanda in 2007. Between 2007-2010, he worked as a medical doctor at Ngarama hospital, Rwanda in departments of pediatrics and obstetric and gynecology and at King Faisal Hospital Kigali, Rwanda in the departments of pediatrics and internal medicine. Subsequently, he did MSc degree in clinical epidemiology at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), the Netherlands (2010-2012).
