    Countries around the world have recognized that having a skilled and competent workforce is critical to quickly prevent, detect and respond to public health challenges and threats. CDC Kenya, through the Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) and other programs, trains and provides technical assistance for the Kenyan public health workforce by building capacity in epidemiology, laboratory sciences, disease prevention, outbreak response, program management, and leadership. In addition, for over thirty five years, CDC Kenya has helped build research capacity through its relationship with KEMRI.
