The Cervical cancer prevention project is part of the Boresha project.

The priority of this project is to reach to 80% of eligible PLHIV women with Cervical screening services.

By December 2017, cervical cancer screening was conducted in 29 health facilities.

All these facilities have cryotherapy machine provided by AGPAHI.

All clients found to have cervical lesions are treated with cryotherapy on the same day (SVA).

Clients with large cervical lesions are treated with leap machines; these services are available at regional and referral hospitals supported by AGPAHI. Clients suspicious for cervical cancer are taken biopsy, samples transported to referral hospitals and results brought back to clients under AGPAHI support.
