About us
The Natural Chemotherapeutic Research Institute (NCRI) was created under the Uganda National Health Research Organization (UNHRO) Statute of 2011.
The humble beginning of the NCRI was from a research laboratory, named the Natural Chemotherapeutic Research Laboratory –NCRL then under the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 1964.

Research ethics review and regulations
NCRI uses Research Ethics Committees of various institutions including Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST), Mulago National Referral Hospital, School of Biomedical Sciences - Makerere University College of Health Sciences and School of Health Sciences (Pharmacy Department)- Makerere University College of Health Sciences. All studies involving human subjects must get approval from UNCST.
