The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) was created by Decree No. 100/090 of May 30, 1991 but officially opened on November 26, 1999. It was born from the need to have within the country, an institution health and human resources production at different levels of the health system with the capacity to generate, compile, analyze and disseminate the information and knowledge needed to make informed policy and policy decisions.
When it started its activities in 1999, it had only two directions:
the Directorate of Training and
the Administrative and Financial Department.
