Moroto Hospital is located in in Northeastern Uganda, 460 kilometers from Kampala. Moroto Regional Referral Hospital (RRH) provides health care services to people in the Karamoja region, including Abim, Napak, Nakapiripirit, Kotido, Moroto, Amudat and Kaabong districts. According to the 2014 census data, Moroto district has a population of 103,432 people. With a capacity of 200 beds, the hospital offers general and specialized services including chronic HIV care; ear, nose, and throat care and treatment; imaging; and laboratory services.
The USAID/SUSTAIN project supports Moroto to deliver quality and comprehensive HIV/AIDS services. Moroto is also one among six hospitals receiving support from the project to pilot provision of adolescent friendly health services.
