The hospital has been founded and built by Associazione Ruvuma in 1992 and recognized as a hospital in 2009. the hospital has been under Dar es Salaam archdiocese till to become last year under the ownership of the Tanzanian Branch of Associazione Ruvuma and ran by DMI sister & collaborators.

The mission of the hospital since the foundation has been to guarantee to any Tanzanian, of any social class, any status and religion, an health quality service affordable to anyone.
