About us
Gulu University (GU) became operational in 2002 as a public University in Uganda. The University offers several academic programmes in its seven faculties/institutes. The Faculty of Medicine runs medical, pharmacy, nursing and public health training among others. Gulu University is located in Gulu Municipality, Northern Uganda.
Vision:
To be a pillar for academic, professional and sustainable development.
Mission:
To provide access to higher education, research and conduct quality professional training for the delivery of appropriate services directed towards community transformation and conservation of biodiversity.
Research ethics review and regulations
Gulu University has one Research Ethics Committee (REC) appointed by the Vice Chancellor. It grants approval to both academic and other research projects. The PhD research and research projects are undertaken by university staff get further approval from the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST).
