Management of blood transfusion in BURUNDI was entrusted to the Burundian Red Cross until 1988, while small intra-hospital units were developed in rural health centers, especially centers run by missionaries.
From 1988 to 1992, the management of blood transfusion was entrusted to a department of the Department of Health Care within the Ministry of Public Health.
