About us
Butabika National Referral Mental Hospital was founded in 1955. It is Uganda’s national mental referral, teaching and research hospital with a bed capacity of 550. The hospital offers specialised mental and general outpatient services to the populace. The hospital has a staff establishment of 420 positions. It has five (5) Consultants in Psychiatry.
Vision:
Community awareness of the importance of a complete state of physical, mental and social wellbeing as a prerequisite for development and poverty alleviation through reduced mental health problems.
Mission:
To offer super specialized and general mental health services, conduct mental health training, mental related research and to provide support to mental health care services in the country.
