The Improving Girls’ Secondary Education and Employment Opportunities project was based on the Four Pillars PLUS methodology of providing scholarships, mentoring and mentor training, teacher professional development and community mobilization to support girls’ education.
The project assisted girls in seven secondary schools and helped bridge the gap between secondary school and employment through a robust internship program for 110 young women. Across their communities, these women helped raise awareness of fistula, congenital diseases, club foot and cleft lips.
