Dr. Lyimo is an infectious-disease ecologist with a passion for studying ecology of vector-borne diseases including malaria, lymphatic filariasis, dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. He obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (2002) at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania, and then PhD in 2010 at University of Glasgow, UK. In 2003, Dr. Lyimo was conducting field M&E of insecticide resistance in mosquito vectors, and evaluated existing and new insecticide products applied on bed nets for malaria vector control.
