Associate Prof. Okwi has interest in collaborative research for introduction of cervical cancer and sickle cell disease screening programmes at health centres in Uganda including the study of the genetics and molecular mechanisms associated with sickle cell anaemia. He is equally interested in genetic and viral factors which influence cell cycle regulation and apoptosis in tumours.
