• Child mortality has shown a strong and significant decline in the past decade but efforts are continuously needed to reduce the burden further. Research shows that around 30-40% of child health services are sought through the private sector in Tanzania. Social franchising applies commercial franchising strategies to the non-profit health sector to efficiently expand access to higher quality health care that is affordable to underserved communities.
