• The department conducts trials on drugs, diagnostics and vaccines for Tuberculosis (TB), HIV, Malaria and other diseases including respiratory pathogens, zoonotic diseases, arboviruses, and various emerging and re-emerging infections.The department is supported by two laboratories with state of the art facilities at Ifakara and Bagamoyo Branches.
