Post-exposures prophylaxis (PEP): The project continues to strengthen PEP as a strong biomedical intervention of curbing down the HIV infection transmission. For the period January – June 2017, out of 377 exposures to HIV, a total of 349 individuals were offered PEP at health facilities. Sexual exposure through rape/defilement remains a dominant indication for PEP and in the next quarter the project shall
intensify community sensitization on condom use and distribution and other prevention messages using the stepping stones approach to the majority adolescent girls affected most. The 25 supported CBOs shall be made to intensify community follow ups to achieve full target of 100% of individuals completing PEP dose
