Medair has been working in South Sudan since 1992 and is one of the most active humanitarian relief organisations in the country. Since the end of 2013, conflict has devastated millions of lives. Alarming levels of malnutrition are seen across the country and the rates are higher than anywhere else in the world. Families have been uprooted. There are outbreaks of deadly disease. Women have few places to safely give birth. Thousands of lives are at risk.

The need for humanitarian aid is enormous. In addition, the insecurity, lack of useable roads, and harsh terrain make it challenging for humanitarian relief organisations to reach the isolated families who most need life-saving help.
