Background

Burundi: The vision for 2025 states that: ‘In 2025, Burundi will be a nation that is united, that demonstrates solidarity and is in a state of peace, a country predicated on the rule of law with rich cultural heritage and will also be a prosperous economy at the service of the well-being of one and all’. The vision aims at shared development for the next generation, in order to formulate policies and strategies for sustainable development. The National Health Development Plan II 2011 – 2015 had the overall goal of improving the health condition of the population, which is not only a human right but also to allow the recovery of the economy and a decrease in poverty while maintaining the human population in good health.
