Ms Aber Jacqueline is a Natural medicine research scientist in the field of natural products. Jacqueline is currently pursuing her PhD in Pharmacognosy of Mbarara University of Science and Technology and she has a Master’s of Science degree of Makerere University in Pharmacognosy and Her research interest is in investigating the effects of the combination of herbal formulations with conventional drugs. The current PhD research work is on the ” biological effects of anti-prostate cancer herbal extracts with conventional anticancer drugs” and her Masters of Science thesis was on “effects of combination of Rifampicin and Isoniazid with extracts of Erythrina abyssinica medicinal plant for treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis” Ms. Jacqueline Aber was a research scientist with the Natural Chemotherapeutic Research Institute- Ministry of Health- Uganda for more than Five years where she conducted a number of research in natural medicines, formulated a number of herbal products, trained and supervised University students in the areas of natural medicines research. Ms Jacqueline has also lectured Pharmacognosy in a number of national government universities including lecturing in the faculty of medicine of Gulu University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology where she supervised and reviewed a number of undergraduate students who all attained their degrees successfully .Ms. Jacqueline has run a number of projects in the areas of natural products including the presidential award to young scientists through the National Council of Science and Technology- Uganda where she was a production manager in the herbal malaria preventive beverage- ARTAVOL and she was also a CO-PI in the standardization of a herbal fertilizer –ALPHA and OMEGA, FERTILIZERS supported by WORLD BANK through the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO). Ms Jacqueline has had a number of training in the fields of natural medicines from Addis Ababa University- Ethiopia, Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine center and Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medical Center- CHINA, “ and from Korean Institute of Oriental medicine- South Korean and she later got an opportunity as a global exchange researcher.
