Geoffrey Maitha is a medical laboratory scientist currently working with Aids health care foundation Kenya program international non-governmental organization providing care and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS and TB.A Public health laboratory professional with 13+ years of experience providing technical assistance in the area of the laboratory. Previously worked as technical advisor (fellow) implementing population-based HIV impact assessment surveys in Zambia in collaboration between African society for laboratory medicine (ASLM) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Zambia he also worked for KEMRI/CDC laboratory, KEMRI/University of Washington (International Aids Research and training program). Geoffrey holds A Master of public health with a focus on Epidemiology, Monitoring and Evaluation of Health programs, Bachelor of Science in Medical laboratory science, specialization in medical microbiology, postgraduate Diploma in project management and a certification course in Monitoring and Evaluation from Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). Currently, he is pursuing PhD in Epidemiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of science and technology in collaboration with Institute of Tropical medicine and infectious (ITROMID) of Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
