Dr. Lina Sara Mathew Alonga is a South Sudanese Biologist (Ethnobotanist), Health Research Scientist and Entrepreneur. She holds a PhD. in Pharmacognosy and Natural Medicines from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 28/5/2022, College of Medicine. She obtained MSc. in Biology (Botany) at Juba University in (2016). She graduated with BSc. in Biology/Chemistry and a Diploma in Education from the University of Bahr El Ghazal, South Sudan in (2003). Dr Lina taught Chemistry and Biology at the secondary school level for four Years. She is also an executive member of the Women’s Bloc of South Sudan in IGAD led on gender affairs, advocating for peace. She currently serves as an assistant professor of Biology (Botany) at the University of Bahr El Ghazal, College of Education, Department of Biology.
She is an innovator of Linrayon natural products and the CEO of LINRAYON GENERAL TRADING CO.LTD. that has developed natural products for hair, skin, allergies, 2 diabetes and body detoxifier
Dr. Lina’s Research interests are to venture into the area of medicinal plants and innovation to establish their safety profiling that will be ready for clinical trials. To establish research institute across the country that will shape the policy and also to mentor young aspiring health research scientist to become research future leaders.
