The East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC) is an institution of the East African Community (EAC) established by EAC Heads of State on 18th June, 2007 as a mechanism for making available to the community, advice upon all matters of health and health related research and findings necessary for knowledge generation, technological development, policy formulation, practices and related matters. EAHRC is the principal advisory institution to the EAC on health Research and Development (R&D). The overall objective of the Commission is to promote, facilitate, and coordinate the conduct and application of health research for the improvement of health and for the wellbeing of the people of East Africa.
OBJECTIVE OF THE CONSULTANCY
The overall goal of the Workforce is to build the capacity of health workers in the region to facilitate the sharing of human resource and evidence-based best health practices across countries with the aim of harmonising and enhancing patient care and outcomes as well as overcoming the shortages of skilled health workers. By increasing digital health capacity of the EAC workforce, this workstream will also support the sustainability of the Digital REACH Initiative and its associated long-term activities. To do this, the workstream will support pre- and in-service capacity building by leveraging technology forteaching, learning, research, and clinical practice in ways that improve the continuity and quality of healthcare across the EAC.
The East African Health Research Commission invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing “CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO CONSULTANT TO DEVELOP DIGITAL HEALTH PROGRAMMES TO TRAIN HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FROM THE EAC PARTNER STATES”
